Chatbots vs voice agents: which is right?
A practical comparison of text chatbots and AI voice agents for business websites: where each one wins, what they cost to run and which to switch on first.

GetParlix adds an AI assistant to your site that answers questions, books appointments and captures leads by chat or by voice. It only knows what you teach it, from your own documents.
Two ways to answer
The same assistant handles both, using the same knowledge in the same widget. Your visitor gets to choose, so you don't have to.
Listening. No phone call, no app
Illustrative conversations. Your assistant answers from your own price list, services and hours.
The gap
They arrive at 9 pm, on a Sunday, from a phone, while someone is comparing you against two other businesses in another tab.
If nobody answers, most people don't leave a message. They go back to the search results. And the enquiries that do land in working hours are usually the same handful of questions, asked again and again, by people who are ready to book.
GetParlix answers those questions the moment they're asked, in whichever way the visitor prefers, and turns the ones it can't answer into a lead with contact details attached.
See how support automation worksHow it works
You don't move platforms, redesign anything, or teach your team a new system.
Upload the documents you already use, such as price lists, service descriptions, policies and opening hours. PDF, Word and plain text all work. You can also paste text straight in and edit it later.
Choose the tone it speaks in, the things it must always say, and the subjects it should never discuss. Set your working days, hours and appointment lengths.
Add a single script tag before the closing body tag. It works on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify or any site that lets you add HTML. Your chatbot and voice agent appear together.
A short walkthrough of the whole thing: uploading your documents, setting your hours, pasting the script tag, and watching a visitor book an appointment by chat and by voice.
What it does
Everything here is running today. Nothing on this page is a roadmap item.
Every reply is drawn from documents you uploaded. Ask about a price and it quotes your price list, not a guess.
Visitors can talk instead of type, right in the widget. No phone number to call, no app to install.
It offers real free slots from your calendar settings and holds the time as it books, so the same slot cannot go twice.
When someone shares a phone number or email, or asks something out of scope, their details are emailed to your team.
Before the voice agent speaks, a grounding check blocks any price, date or name that isn't in your source material.
Persona, custom rules, restricted topics, industry template and pronunciation of your product names are all set per account.

Only what you give it. You upload PDFs, Word files or plain text, including price lists, service pages, policies and FAQs, and it answers from those. It does not browse the web or crawl your website, so it can never repeat something you did not approve.
No. Installing it means pasting one line of HTML before the closing body tag. WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and most other site builders have an HTML block, so you can do it yourself in a couple of minutes.
No. The voice agent runs inside the widget on your website, using the visitor's microphone. There is no phone number, and nothing to install. Someone browsing your site can simply start talking to it.
It says so rather than guessing, then offers to take the visitor's details. Those details are emailed to your team so a person can follow up. Out-of-scope questions become leads instead of dead ends.
Yes. It reads your working days, hours and appointment length, offers times that are genuinely free, and locks the slot as it books so the same time cannot be taken twice. Changing or cancelling a booking is currently handled by your team from the dashboard.
Two ways. Answers are assembled from passages retrieved out of your own documents, and before the voice agent speaks, a grounding check compares every number and name in the reply against those passages. Anything unsupported is stopped before the visitor hears it.
English is what we support and test. The assistant will try to reply in the language a visitor writes in, but we would not recommend relying on it for a non-English audience yet.
Book a demo and tell us about your business. We set your account up, you complete a short onboarding form about your services and hours, upload your documents, and then install the widget. Every account starts on a 14-day trial.
Tell us what your business gets asked all day. We'll set up an assistant on your own material and show you both modes side by side.
